I have spent 30 years in the Criminal Justice System -- It still fascinates me today. Crime is a function of society -- it has always been with us and it will continue to always be with us.  I have seen most every aspect of this "system" first hand.  I have studied all of the theories several times over across four decades.  Bottom line - criminologists who guide the criminal justice system have little impact upon crime.  Finding the "solution" to crime is a good exercise in research and educational resources because it keeps the political question before the public.  It allows government to stay in business, politicians to scare us to death with "what if" hypothesis and the news media with material for our need for a daily dose of gossip and gore.  This is not to say there isn't a fascination in watching how people find ways of getting into trouble and then how we as a society handle that assault.

The following are articles that I either wrote or collected on an assortment of criminal justice issues.  Click on the link to go to the article.

A New Criminal Justice System: This is an article I wrote some time ago as to what a criminal justice would look like if I were left to design it.  Over time, I probably would make some changes, but not many.

Florida's Criminal Justice System:  This is an article I wrote on what changes I would propose for improving the criminal justice system in Florida.

Inside the Criminal Mind: Samenow:  This is an article I wrote on Samenow's book.  I felt overall he did a terrible job.  It is a commercial product meant to sell an idea.

Juvenile Justice Week Speech - 2003: I am frequently asked to speak on a number of topics.  I have also M.C.d juvenile justice events in Northeast Florida.  This is a sample of one such speech.
