Some years ago, at the suggestion of a friend, I took up the hobby of
photography. I did not realize then the importance this past time
would play in my life. It would be extremely hard for me to express in
any forum the places I have traveled and the things I have seen.
Many of them I would never have seen without having taken up this hobby.
Photography has the unrealized goals of teaching one to look at those
things around you, while serving the purpose of recording ones history.
We all realize the advantage of recording events that incorporate our
family -- their passing through our lives. And there are those
things we hold dear to us which we call "Kodak Moments" that must be
caught on film. These must have pictures are so we can have memories
--especially as we get older and no longer have the ability to remember
unassisted.
But there is another side to photography. Photography allows
oneself to record history for others the interesting events of our lives
for when we are no longer here. It captures those things the
photographer sees at a certain time and place in the history of the
world and expresses their importance. I visit some of the same
places over again and each time I will see the area or place
differently. History is always moving on just as our lives are
continuously moving on.
The pictures that are contained in this gallery are only a
representative selection of thousands of pictures I have taken over a
short period of my life, probably the last 10 years since taking up
photography. Unfortunately, I have not got the best pictures of some of
my travels because they have turned up missing and that saddens me
greatly. There is no reason for certain pictures appearing.
I have divided the pictures into two categories: American Visits and
Foreign Visits. It makes the organization a little easier and
hopefully will accommodate the viewer's specific interests a little
better. I have a lot of friends that aren't much for traveling
outside of the United States.
I hope the quality of the pictures are satisfactory. I had to
reformat all of them and reduce their size and quality so that they
would take up less space and allow quicker access on the internet.
This took many hours of work. And because of that, I hope you find some
pictures that are of personal interest and enjoyment to you. --The
